And the winner is....
Winners of 2010 Lanarkshire Business Awards
The waiting is finally over as the winners of this year's Lanarkshire business awards were revealed at a glittering awards ceremony held at the Shawlands Park Hotel on Friday.
The awards ceremony hosted by Fred MacAulay was the climax of the evening that also included performances from the Easy Orchestra and rising comedy star Kevin Bridges.
The awards are a staple of the Lanarkshire business calendar and are hosted by North and South Lanarkshire Councils.
Councillor Tom Maginnis, Convener of Regeneration at North Lanarkshire Council said: "This year was an exceptional year for the Lanarkshire business awards. We had a fantastic volume of entries and each of the finalists proved they had what it takes to be in the final three. The standard and quality of entries, certainly caused great debate between the judges and the winners should be applauded for making their mark in what continues to be a challenging economic environment."
The wide range of categories and the winners represent the diverse nature of the Lanarkshire economy. All of the winning companies are creating employment and this has a positive impact on the future economic success of Lanarkshire.
Gordon Wilson, Service Director, of Amey who once again sponsored the awards said: "We would like to extend our congratulations to all of the winners of this years awards. It is encouraging to see continued success in the local economy and great vision from companies seeking opportunity from the challenging economic climate of late. As an organisation, Amey are committed to supporting communities and awards such as these are a great way of recognising local business talent."
Chris Thompson, Chair of Enterprise Resources at South Lanarkshire Council, said: "These awards are certainly the ones you want to win. Not only is a win a great credit to the employees but it is also a recognised accreditation for promoting businesses to customers and suppliers."
