The Connect 2 programme supports South Lanarkshire residents who have had a range of issues in their life with the chance to undertake a supervisory level vocational qualification and a work placement. The programme is specifically designed to help those who have difficulty accessing opportunities in the Care sector.
Connect 2 services provide a structured programme of support designed to help participants build confidence and motivation along with all of the skills necessary to compete for and sustain employment in the Care sector. The intensive 26 week training period offers a unique blend of Personal Development and Vocational Training and also offers participants the chance to study an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
The Connect 2 programme includes:
- personal development support to boost confidence and motivation
- ECDL or PC Passport training, dependent on the individual's IT skils
- a Social Care work placement
- support of a dedicated Connect 2 staff member at every stage of the programme
- the chance to undertake an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
- waged or unwaged option to suit participants' individual circumstances
- the services of a mentor to help deal with all of the challenges of getting back to work.
