North Lanarkshire Council is developing a family of Supplementary Planning Guidance to complement the Local Plan policies.

These are being developed in batches as they are taken through a minimum 6 week public consultation process and amended to address comments made. When amended and adopted the Council will seek to ensure that the principles and checklists therein are achieved and applied through the Development Management process.

The following guidance documents were adopted on 22nd September 2009 and are now available for use.

The following guidance documents were adopted 21st April 2010 and will be submitted to the Local Plan Examination as supporting information.

This followed Public Consultation as set out in Committee Report (2009 Sept 22nd; Consultation Statement and Appendix.1)

The following DRAFT documents are currently out for public consultation until 14th February 2010. STOP PRESS – extended to 1st  March 2010.

Updates

The FDNLLP consultation period is now closed with all valid representations assessed and reported to the Council in January 2010 and April 2010. All unresolved objections now go to Local Plan Examination administered and conducted by the Scottish Government Directorate of Environmental and Planning Appeals. This is due to start August 2010.

Community Growth Areas - Concept Statements

Finalised Community Growth Area Concepts Statements are available as Supplementary Guidance and now available for download. Contact the New Communities Team at Dalziel Building, Scott Street, Motherwell for further information.

In due course the Council will be preparing Town Centre Action Plans.
