Shell Step Student Placements is a UK-wide programme offering undergraduates project-based work within small to medium sized businesses and community organisations.
During the project, host companies may receive funding support towards the student's training allowance.
The program is designed to help small companies develop their potential by utilising the high-level skills of undergraduates, enabling students to work on a specific project, identified by the host business, of up to 8 weeks. Companies benefit by fresh ideas and improved processes - both in the short and the long term.
On completion, projects are each assessed by a panel of judges, with the best from each region selected for Scottish and then UK finals later in the year.
Aimed at bringing together small to medium sized enterprises that have a particular need for skilled help, with undergraduate students possessing suitable skills.
