Momentum, in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council, provide specialist vocational training programmes that assist people living in South Lanarkshire with a learning disability or an aquired brain injury to gain employment. The service incorporates a mix of vocational training, work placement, assistance into the job market and aftercare support, all specifically designed to help participants take the first steps into meaningful sustained employment.
Specialist Employability Support provides flexibe one-to-one support designed to equip participants with the confidence and necessary skills to fully access job market opportunities and blends job coaching and aftercare with training that leads to recognised vocational qualifications, such as City & Guilds Certificates.
Key programme elements include:
- Confidence building, assertiveness, communication skills, problem solving and team building.
- Opportunities to gain SQA and City and Guilds (Employability and Personal Development) certificated qualifications in-house.
- Supported, structured work placements that develop work related skills.
- Assistance with job search and relevant training relating to key associated practices, e.g. completing application forms, mock interviews, travel planning, etc.
- Aftercare service for up to two years.
